Memphis has always been associated with innovation in design for the stylistic language adopted from its inception. The correlation to a colourful and creative concept of the world, from the interiors which surround us to the fabrics we wear, is unavoidable. The project for the Master Surface & Textile Design course envisions the creative proposal, for the Memphis brand, of new patterns outlined on innovative surfaces, in line with international trends. The students create a series of projects to reinterpret the brand’s graphic motifs, symbols, and decorative elements, revisiting them with a contemporary twist and presented on surfaces and textiles, even developing proposals for ceramic covering of various sizes and for 3D tactile or contrasting finishes surfaces, or decorating materials for furnishings with the help of technologies such as laser cut or backlit bases.
