Beneath it all

Beneath it all is my - so far - brief but nonetheless deep, personal and chaotic journey where the perception of reality and fantasy merge together. Much like the work of Roger Ballen in his series “The theatre of apparitions”, the set of pictures take the viewers on a journey into their subconscious through abstract forms representing the relationship between human and beast and harks back to the ancient shamanistic visions and symbols which he believes are embedded in us all. As far as it goes, I’m discovering that I am both human and beast, an everlasting metamorphosis shaped by what I see, hear and experience. To me, fashion is not about the final product but about the process, and my personal process relates to the automatism principles of creating art without conscious thought, accessing the material from the unconscious mind as part of the creative process.
