Bergotte was a Marcel Proust character who died in front of an exquisite yellow detail on a Vermeer painting. Yellow is one of the main colors of the collection which focuses on three workwear staples: the trench coat, the polo neck, the trouser suit. It was inspired by the Herring Girls (strong women fisher), Le Corbusier and Frank Stella, the large check tartans were inspired by Vermeer. Each outfit is made up of three or more layered garments. The coats and the soft blazers envelope the body, the trousers are high-waisted and wide-legged. The collection adds movement to the figure. All the details and buttons are hot-enameled to underline the excellence of Italian craftsmanship.
